Launch: Hunger

Hunger, a new twice yearly magazine from Waddell, goes on sale 17 November, priced £4.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: “At 512 pages, none of which is advertising, Hunger is a new fashion and lifestyle magazine created by Rankin, renowned photographer and co-founder of iconic Dazed & Confused, which is designed to inspire and incite the creative hunger in us all.

Timed to coincide with the latest cruise collections (designer collections released outside of the main Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter seasons) and aimed at both men and women, Hunger will be a celebration of artistic ambition, passion and enterprise.

With the aim of being a platform for young emerging talents across all artistic media, every issue of Hunger features a selection of individuals from the worlds of art, design, fashion, drama and music. As well as newcomers, Hunger also includes established figures, people who have pushed at the cultural boundaries in their fields.

With a strong and unfaltering visual identity, a result of Rankin shooting much of the photography and being instrumental in directing the overall design and style, Hunger features articles and news about those people who have propelled modern culture forward in their own way and on their own terms.

Every issue of Hunger will have male and female dual front covers and gracing the launch issue are Welsh actor Rhys Ifans on one, with American singer, model and actress, Sky Ferreira on the other.

In addition to talking to Ifans and Ferrerira, the launch issue of Hunger has interviews with Terence Stamp and Ray Winstone, while there are also fashion features with Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Erin O’Connor and Kelis inside.

Using some of the best things from the past and present, but always with a view to the future, Hunger has an insatiable appetite for all things cultural and devours it all!”
