Launch: Sim Racer Magazine

Sim Racer Magazine, a new alternate monthly magazine from Ebcon Publishing, aimed at the computer genre of sim racing games, goes on sale 4 September, priced £5.99.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: Simulated racing (sim racing) games have been popular with gamers for as long as home computers have been around and with the proliferation of technological devices in recent years, there have never been so many formats for playing sim racing games on.

While new sim racing games are reviewed in the larger computer magazines there has never been a commercially available magazine dedicated solely to the genre – until now!

Aimed at gamers of all ages, Sim Racer Magazine will have all the news, reviews and interviews about the games, along with tips and tricks for making readers better sim racers.

Covering all aspects of the hobby, Sim Racer Magazine will look at games on all formats; either already launched or under development, featuring the companies behind the games, talk to the designers and get the lowdown on the cars and tracks they use.

Whether online games that allow human opponents to race each other or those played against a computer, sim racing today is more technically advanced, with realistic vehicles, racetracks, roads and obstacles than ever, as well as peripherals that mimic real driving.

In addition to the games themselves, Vol.1 No.1 of Sim Racer Magazine will look at the current crop of hardware and accessories on the market, such as steering wheels and pedals that enthusiasts can buy to improve their sim racing game experience.

As well as all this, Sim Racer Magazine will cover all aspects of gaming for all levels of player, with advice for novices on choosing their first game, setting up and getting started, to long-time sim racers who are looking for advice on customising their cars and games.
