Law Society Gazette re-launches website using responsive web design

Abacus has helped client Law Society Gazette re-launch their weekly society magazine website with a fully responsive design. Mobile traffic is reported to be up 15% in the first week.

Google announcing that mobile optimised sites are being more highly ranked, first with Mobilegeddon in April 2015 and most recently in October 2016, was just one more reason for the Law Society Gazette (LSG) to adopt responsive web design to support and engage with their increasingly important mobile audience. In the first few days, the site has seen an immediate 15% increase in mobile traffic, says Abacus.

LSG is powered by Abacus’ Webvision CMS, supporting multi-channel publishing, driving both website and web apps, so that all content production can be controlled through a single workflow. Utilising responsive web design, the site automatically adapts to the screen size of the device, offering an optimised mobile-first customer experience. According to Abacus, the platform’s flexibility allows pages to be easily integrated with third party feeds and widgets alongside internal content to provide a rich and engaging customer experience.

ADvance, Abacus’ cloud-based audience engagement platform, continues to power the online registration process. This gives LSG the ability to capture detailed audience data (for both members and non-members), and to then personalise content on this basis to deliver an engaging and personalised user experience, such as highly targeted content, advertising and marketing messages. ADvance also supports LSG’s digital and print fulfilment.

The Law Society Gazette is the weekly trade magazine published by the Law Society of England and Wales, which represents over 144,000 solicitors.
