Local World unveils new-look Hertfordshire titles

Hertfordshire will look more colourful this month as Local World relaunches two of the area's flagship newspapers: the Hertfordshire Mercury and the Midweek Mercury (previously the Advertiser Group).

They lead with fresh new content for readers and will also come together to offer advertisers a consistent new platform to reach an affluent Hertfordshire audience, says Local World.

The Hertfordshire Mercury emerges on Thursday 25 September with a fresh new look and more engaging content across its four local editions, including brand new lifestyle supplements. This cements the Mercury’s position as the leading paid-for title, across Hertford, Ware, Hoddesdon, Buntingford and Cheshunt, say the publishers.

The Midweek Mercury launches on Wednesday 1 October. Its two editions take the strong legacy of the Stevenage Advertiser and Hitchin Advertiser to evolve into a new product designed to excite readers and advertisers alike. The Midweek Mercury targets a high-spending ABC1 demographic by delivering directly through the doors of selected addresses in Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage Old Town and Knebworth. It will also be available to pick up from high-profile locations across these areas.

Both the Hertfordshire Mercury and Midweek Mercury will now share an online home at hertfordshiremercury.co.uk, which sports a smart new design.

According to Local World, through the two print titles and the website, the Hertfordshire portfolio is set to reach a total audience of 342,800.

Editor Julie Palmer said: "I am very excited about the journey we are about to embark on.

"We want to maintain and build on our position in the community. We want to be the team people come to when they have news to share. We want to be the first port of call when residents want to know what is happening in their community."
