London Press Club Awards – winners announced

The London Press Club this week announced the winners for its 2021 London Press Club Awards.

The awards were presented at a lunch ceremony held at the Royal Over-Seas League in St James’s.

Chair of the judges, LBC broadcaster Nick Ferrari and BBC journalist Riz Lateef presented the awards. Andrew Marr was the keynote speaker who praised the press for their professionalism during the pandemic and entertained the audience with tales of his journalistic career.

The winners of London Press Club Awards were:

Londoner of the Year: Emma Raducanu and the London Evening Standard

Multi-media journalist of the Year: Andrew Pierce of the Daily Mail

Specialist journalist of the Year: Dan McCrum of the FT

Young journalist of the Year: Abbianca Makoni of the Standard

Daily Newspaper of the Year: The Daily Mail

Sunday Newspaper of the Year: Mail on the Sunday

Scoop of the Year: Daily Mirror and the Guardian for Dominic Cummings scoop

Print journalist of the Year: David Williams of the Standard

Broadcaster of the Year: Lyse Doucet of the BBC

Edgar Wallace Award for fine writing: Allison Pearson
