Magazine video revenue platform launched

Video Direct has launched Videobuilder, a cloud-based video revenue and production platform for global magazine publishers.

Publishers can use Videobuilder to create a magazine branded TV channel for their publication’s website. The platform is integrated with YouTube for free streaming, and players can be filled with free content relating to their magazine’s sector, such as BBC News content, user-generated content or any other content publishers feel readers will enjoy. Ad sales teams can then charge advertisers to place their existing content into the player. A variety of other Videobuilder features can be employed to create additional revenue.

Advertisers can also use Videobuilder to create video content for their magazine’s TV channel or directory listing. Videos are produced online with photos, music, voice-over and text, and are instantly added to YouTube on completion. They can also be added to Facebook and Twitter, and a copy is generated for the advertiser to keep. Publishers can set their own retail price for providing this self-serve service.

Publishers can set auto-delete dates for each video, allowing advertising teams to limit the length advertising content is live for, and for editorial teams to keep their content fresh. A QR code generator is also being added to allow publishers to link their print products to video content held in their account.

Videobuilder also includes a simple online video editor for editorial teams to produce and edit video content in-house, enabling rapid production of high quality editorial video broadcasts without the need for a professional filmmaker.
