Marie Claire, IPC Southbank’s women’s glossy, has appointed Helen Assucena to the newly created role of head of fashion and international.

Helen Assucena has worked for Marie Claire for nine years, joining as UK fashion manager before moving into the role of international fashion manager. Helen has spent the past five years as the brand advertising manager.

I am confident that Helen’s energy and drive will ensure that we have the markets covered.”

Helen adds: “I’m delighted to be able to focus on the various fashion sectors at such an important time.  International clients are starting to embrace the online area of our business and the integrated approach is key to our selling proposition.  Our goal is to heighten our presence in all fashion sectors and to drive the business to new levels of success.”

Richard Johnstone, publishing director, adds: “Marie Claire’s fashion editorial on and offline is highly regarded by the industry and loved by our 1.6million monthly readers. By creating the head of fashion and international role we are putting an increased emphasis on commercially developing this dynamic and valuable area, which will benefit both Marie Claire and our fashion partners.”

Helen will report into Nicole Waudby and she takes up her new position with immediate effect.
