Marie Claire to launch first iPad app

Upmarket fashion glossy Marie Claire is launching its first iPad app in the New Year.

Marie Claire Runway on the iPad will complement the launch of the new print fashion bi-annual of the same name and is aimed at women who live and breathe fashion. Both will be available from 2 February and will be supported with a new Runway channel on www.marieclaire.co.uk.

Marie Claire Runway on the iPad will bring to life a selection of the best Spring/Summer shows as chosen by members of the Marie Claire team and fashion insiders, who are interviewed about their favourite collections.

The app also features a key strand from the print edition, Fashion Flash, which is enhanced for the iPad. All content on the iPad app is exclusive and delivers the Marie Claire Runway positioning of offering both a back stage pass and a front row seat.

Marie Claire publishing director Justine Southall says: “Marie Claire resonates with successful, confident women, who want to be the best in every area of their lives and always want to be in the know. With in-depth and exciting fashion content, Marie Claire Runway delivers to one of their biggest passions and they can access this new brand extension through multiple touch points.”

Marie Claire last week announced a refresh of www.marieclaire.co.uk with new fonts, a cleaner header and larger images to mirror the premium experience of the magazine.

Marie Claire Runway for iPad will be free to download. The print edition will cost £6.
