Mensa UK have announced the launch of a new bi-monthly member magazine, IQ, catering to all readers with a thirst for knowledge and an inquisitive mind.

In an exclusive interview, physicist and television presenter Professor Brian Cox shares his views on the Apollo "aviators" and how their accomplishments inspire hope. Readers will also enjoy an article where Robin Ince shares his favourite bookshops, along with a fascinating feature that pits the story writing skills of a professional writer against artificial intelligence, says the publisher.

Mensa says in this first issue of IQ they asked their members who most embodies intelligence. Some of the people in their list are no-brainers (excuse the pun) while others might surprise readers they added. And to accompany members’ top 10 intelligentsia, they’ve chosen a contemporary selection of brilliant minds they believe are making our world a more interesting place.

The magazine features the remarkable story of former Royal Navy navigator Louise Worrall, who shares her journey and the lessons she learned along the way. This inspiring story is a testament to the power of resilience and determination.

Finally, IQ offers a mix of puzzles and challenges, perfect for readers who love to put their intellect to the test.

Chief executive of Mensa Cath Hill said, “I am delighted with our new magazine and hope our members will be equally as pleased. There is a wonderful variety of features, which makes for a fascinating read, and we’ve also been very fortunate with the profile of our interviewees. I look forward to our continued partnership with the team at Think Publishing, with whom we’ve worked very closely on the production of the magazine, and can’t wait to see what’s planned for the next issue.”

Mensa added that the new magazine is a must-read for anyone who loves to learn and explore the world around them. IQ is now available exclusively to Mensa members and will be arriving this week.

The new magazine was developed by the team at Think Publishing. “Working on the new Mensa members magazine has been a joy,” said executive director John Innes, “There are so many interesting stories to tell that our challenge hasn’t been what to include, but what to leave out. We’re looking forward to telling some exciting stories in the months ahead.”
