Metro and ScotRail partner to boost recycling

Metro, the urban media brand has announced a partnership with train operator ScotRail that sees a high profile advertising campaign launch at some of Scotland’s busiest stations.

For four weeks beginning on Monday 28 November, the automatic ticket gates at ten 10 major ScotRail stations across Scotland’s central belt will carry eye-catching Metro branding encouraging readers to carry their copies of the newspaper away with them and to recycle the copies wherever possible.

John Leitch, Metro’s Executive Director – Operations said: “Metro is committed to encouraging recycling. This latest initiative with our partners at ScotRail represents a new and exciting development. Both teams have worked hard to make this campaign happen and we’re confident it will have a positive impact and be well received by our readers across Central Scotland.”

Steve Montgomery, ScotRail’s managing director, said: “There are obvious environmental benefits of train travel, and this initiative is welcomed under our aim to continually shrink our carbon footprint.

“We are recycling more waste than ever and this joint venture underpins effort to identify green improvements.”
