Metro appoints Head of Content Sponsorship

Former Account Manager, Charlotte Sayer has been promoted to Head of Content Sponsorship to maximise revenue opportunities across Metro’s current and future platforms.

The new role has been shaped by Metro veteran Charlotte and will focus on monetising the exciting new supplements and sponsorship opportunities recently introduced to the newspaper, as well as developing new content platforms, says Metro.

Having worked within the trading team at Metro for almost six of the last eight years, Charlotte is well placed to lead content partnerships internally and work in conjunction with in house creative agency, Story, as well as sales and editorial teams.

Metro’s Trading Director, Grant Woodthorpe says: “I’m chuffed to see Charlotte step up so naturally into this role, managing various stakeholders to deliver the best results for Metro, our customers and consumers. Her proven track record and passion for innovating and achieving results makes for a very exciting development in our commercial team.”

Over the past year, Metro has made – and continues to make – some big changes to the look of the newspaper and its content, simultaneously creating new commercial opportunities for display advertising, sponsorship, promotions and branded content partnerships, say the publishers. Last week saw the launch of a major new interiors and property supplement now running weekly on Tuesdays, plus new weekend entertainment section every Friday.
