Motors.co.uk goes mobile

Motors.co.uk, one of the UK leading used car websites, has launched a dedicated mobile site to provide consumers with further choice in their car search process.

With a claimed five fold increase in mobile traffic in one year, largely dominated by the iPhone and iPad, the new site will help dealers capitalise on the growth in mobile internet and drive more traffic to their websites.

Motors.co.uk found that the iPhone is leading the mobile revolution, generating 105,521 of total visits followed by the iPad in second place with 48,552 visits.

The number of visits from Android devices increased by 1,148 percent in 2011 compared to 2010 while Blackberry users searching for their next car on motors.co.uk grew by 219 percent.

The new mobile site will support the growing number of mobile visitors and follows the success of the motors.co.uk car search app for the iPhone, Android and iPad which have been downloaded by more than 100,000 car buyers, says motors.co.uk.

Garry Hobson, CEO at motors.co.uk, said: “Consumers expect to be able to search for a used car on the internet on whatever device is at their disposal.  Our mobile site is optimised to capitalise on an area of search that is growing exponentially. All of our dealers will benefit immediately, with all stock being made automatically available on our mobile site, as it is with our iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

We already see high levels of engagement from users on smart phones and believe that the new site will further increase the leads we provide to dealers.  ”

Dealerships will be able to advertise on the motors.co.uk mobile site and apps for free as part of their advertising package.
