myCME.com signs Indian partnership

Haymarket Medical Media has signed a letter of understanding with the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) forming an educational partnership via Haymarket’s international education website www.myCME.com.

The AFPI is a newly-formed membership organisation with a goal to improve healthcare in communities by promoting education and training for family physicians and integrating them within the healthcare system.

The educational partnership between Haymarket and the AFPI provides Indian physicians with access to over 400 educational activities and a platform to publish medical education from the AFPI which is focussed specifically for the Indian family physician.

Dr Raman Kumar, President of the AFPI, said: ‘AFPI will focus on producing quality CME material addressing educational needs of trainees and practicing family physicians. With rapid growth of internet and mobile services in India, partnership with Haymarket Medical Media will enable us to deliver quality education to primary care physicians at their doorsteps, even in the remotest part of the country.’

‘Haymarket has championed family medicine for over 50 years through its titles GP magazine and MIMS,’ said Richard Yarwood, Medical Education Director in Haymarket’s UK offices. ‘Over time we have developed close links with the Royal College of General Practitioners and supported their efforts to promote family medicine in India. To enter a partnership with the AFPI adds to our commitment to deliver education to a global healthcare community.’
