New Additions to the River Team

Recently re-launched River announces new additions to their team.

Business Development Director Paul Jacobs, Advertising Director Chris Mackintosh and Creative Consultant Balwant Ahira are the newest recruits to the Senior Management team at the multi-channel content agency.

After their recent re-launch, at which River revealed a host of new offerings including iPad applications, viral, video, eRM and social networking, the new team have been brought together to roll out the new offerings, in conjunction with River’s existing services, which include magazines (newsstand, customer and digital), catalogues, books and websites.

Chief Executive Nicola Murphy says, “The content we deliver is equally applicable to new media and multi-channel platforms, as to magazines. The new additions to our team will help us to deliver our huge range of services with even more aplomb. From our perspective, the market is looking up and our new staff will help us meet demand for our offerings. Our experience and expertise truly makes River the gold standard in compelling content in any medium.”

The New Additions

Paul Jacobs, Business Development Director

Paul has carved out a successful career in a combination of Media and Financial Markets for 12 years in a senior business development capacity. He has worked on the strategic launch and commercial development of a number of magazines, websites and events at MSM International, but more recently worked within the Financial Services Industry as a specialist in the Equity Derivative and Forex sectors for Accendo Markets.

Chris Mackintosh, Advertising Director

With a BA (Hons) in Marketing, and as a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management, Chris has been brought on board to even further expand on the expertise of River’s comprehensive advertising department. Originally trained with Yellow Pages in field sales and training management, Chris progressed with Thomson Newspaper Publishing UK as a sales director controlling teams of over 100 then further to South East Asia & South Africa controlling a team of over 400. Chris later became the global chief exec for Sportfirst International Newspaper and Contract Publishing and Sponsorship, and since 2004 he has consulted blue chip companies on sales, marketing, business growth.

Balwant Ahira, Creative Consultant

Balwant works at River with Creative Director Jane Wynn and Art Director Phil Tristram to inform the creative process and inspire each team to produce stunning executions. Prior to working for River, Balwant was Creative Director of ASOS, the UKs largest online retailer, and has Art Directed numerous high profile magazines in his time including Arena, Nova, Elle Decoration and The Observer Magazine and Time Out.
