New Fully-Automated App for Trinity Mirror Regional Title

The Birmingham Post is the latest newspaper to launch a feed-driven app using PageSuite’s new app CMS, PageSuite Live.

The Birmingham Post’s new app is fully automated which means that it requires no editorial intervention to publish new editions. PageSuite Live enables publishers to utilise their existing website content and images as they can be streamed into customisable templates which are designed for device. Once templates have been crafted and the feeds have been mapped the editions can then be scheduled to publish automatically, says PageSuite.

The content within the Birmingham Post’s app is set to refresh every hour which means that readers will have access to the latest headlines throughout the day. As well as viewing the feed-driven content viewers will also be able to access the PDF-replica edition which is accessible from within the app. Users will also be able to view supplements including Post Property and Birmingham Post Life.

Marc Reeves, Publishing Director of Trinity Mirror Midlands said, "The Post has a very demanding and discerning audience focused on fast-changing business news across the city region. Our app offer therefore has to sit alongside the very best in that B2B market, and we're delighted that PageSuite have helped us to deliver that."

There is a full archive of the previous week’s editions located within the menu for readers looking to access older content. There is also a search feature and social media icons which link directly to the Birmingham Post’s social media pages.

This app is currently available to download to iPhone and iPad devices and replaces the Birmingham Post’s existing Dynamic App.
