New tourism website and magazine for Kent launched

Independent publisher KM Media Group has launched a new website and publication highlighting the county's attractions to visitors.

Destination Kent launched on Friday as a responsive website and magazine (print and e-edition).

More than 75,000 copies of the magazine are being distributed via Self Select Distribution into major supermarkets across Kent, Sussex, Essex, Surrey and South East London.

A further 25,000 will be available at campsites, hotels, visitor centres and caravan parks, say the publishers.

KM editorial director Ian Carter said the launch was inspired by the expected increase in 'staycations' post-Brexit.

He added: "Kent has got a huge amount to attract visitors, and not just the well-known landmarks like the White Cliffs or Leeds Castle.

"Places like Margate and Folkestone are really on the up, and this has been the perfect opportunity."

Commercial director Neil Webster added: "We took the view that following the referendum decision that more people would be holidaying or taking day trips in the UK. The response from advertisers has been brilliant and we are certain that Destination Kent will help them have a bumper summer."
