Newbury Weekly News goes live with Miles 33’s Gemstone advertising suite

Miles 33 has announced that the Newbury Weekly News successfully went live with the Gemstone advertising suite that includes Production Tracking, Credit Management and Accounts Receivables.

The Newbury Weekly News, an existing Miles 33 customer, had previously implemented a multi-channel GN4 editorial content management system plus a VirtualCMS web publishing system. The Gemstone implementation completes the across-the-board technology update at the paper.

According to Miles 33, the Gemstone suite comes pre-loaded with powerful apps for CRM, ad booking, digital inventory management, workflow automation, audience analysis and sophisticated sales progress monitoring. Gemstone will not only allow sales staff to sell and book classified and ROP ads, but also sell full digital ad campaigns thanks to a tight two-way integration with Google's DFP, the leading ad server.

James Gurney, CEO of Newbury Weekly News commented: “Having recently joined Newbury, one of my very first goals was to give the staff the best possible solutions to deliver upon their personal targets, making it easier to achieve more. Seeing Gemstone from Miles 33 and the suite of sales tools available it was really a simple and quick decision.”

Furthermore, using Gemstone, online Ad inventory can be better planned and managed as Gemstone will automatically alert sales staff of inventory availability at booking time. The system is expected to dramatically reduce the amount of ad trafficking, which was previously required to fulfil ad inventory, says Miles 33. Integrated self-service solutions are also being deployed.
