Paul announced the move on Twitter earlier this month writing: “After eight brilliant years, I am leaving Newsquest for a new chapter.
“I have been here since graduation and worked in a variety of roles, each one has been fun, challenging and has helped me grow professionally.
“In a few weeks I will be joining Reach and will be taking on the role of editor at the soon-to-launch Aberdeen Live.
“The opportunity will mean big changes but it was too good for me to turn down and I cannot wait to get started.”
He will be joined by DC Thomson crime and courts reporter Ciaran Shanks who last week wrote on Twitter: “After five fantastic years, I’m leaving DC Thomson.
“It has been an absolute honour working on the Dundee Evening Telegraph and The Courier in my adopted home city but a new challenge awaits.
“Thrilled to announce I’m joining the soon-to-be-launching Aberdeen Live. Major plans in the pipeline and I’ll be reunited with Paul Fisher.”
