Newsquest Sussex launches Lewes & South Coast Argus

Last week saw the launch of the free weekly Lewes & South Coast Argus, the latest addition to The Argus stable of newspapers.

The Lewes & South Coast Argus was published for the first time on Thursday February 9, and boasted a bumper 48 pages for its launch edition, says Newsquest.

This new free title will now be published every Thursday and covers the core areas of Lewes, Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven, providing a mix of local news, sport and entertainment. It will be available to pick-up at more than 70 outlets across the area.

This is the second Argus launch in the past four weeks and follows hot on the heels of the Mid Sussex Argus, first printed on January 19. You can view both editions online.

According to Newsquest, this represents a real statement of intent from The Argus team, committed to providing quality local news for readers and excellent return on investment for advertisers.

Managing Director of Newsquest Sussex, Tony Portelli, said: "Following the successful launch of the Mid Sussex Argus in January, which has captured the attention of both readers and advertisers, I am delighted that we have launched the Lewes and South Coast Argus this week.

This new title follows our ongoing strategy of placing the iconic Argus brand and design at the heart of our publishing strategy. Combined with our incredible online audience, both new Argus titles offer incredible penetration of their respective markets.

The Lewes and South Coast Argus is a credit to our talented and industrious editorial and commercial teams."
