Newsweek opts for vjoon K4

Production of the EMEA edition of Newsweek went live on the vjoon K4 Cross-Media Publishing Platform in July.

The EMEA edition of Newsweek — produced from London — now counts on the efficient and highly automated production workflows provided by vjoon K4. Integration, training and the first live production have been done in record speed, says vjoon. British vjoon integrator Selcom Systems installed the system only in July and just a few days later editorial staff successfully produced a first edition of the famous magazine with it.

Nick Passmore, production editor of Newsweek says: “We are pleased with the increased efficiency brought by vjoon K4. Just in a couple of days the system was up and running and we could start production. Because of vjoon K4 we produce the magazine faster and, we are also convinced that it is a good investment for the future.”

Newsweek is a weekly news magazine founded in 1933 and headquartered in New York City. In 2013 Newsweek was acquired by the online media company IBT Media which also owns the International Business Times. The print edition of Newsweek was relaunched in the USA and in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2014 after it was discontinued in the USA at the end of 2012 followed by the EMEA edition in 2013. In the meantime Newsweek was available as a digital edition only, called Newsweek Global. Newsweek has been a staple of media for over 80 years, bringing high-quality journalism to millions of readers around the globe. Newsweek provides in-depth analysis, news and opinion about international issues, technology, business, culture and politics.
