NFRN to relocate from London

The NFRN has announced that after 100 years of being based predominantly in London, it is to relocate its head office out of the capital.

NFRN to relocate from London
Stuart Reddish: “This move heralds a new chapter in the proud history of the NFRN.”

The decision was taken following a review of its business and after a special meeting of the Federation’s national council on August 21.

A small number of staff will remain in London but will work from smaller premises near to the current Farringdon headquarters. Chief operating officer Greg Deacon will be based in London.

The NFRN’s helpline service, NFRN Connect, NFRN direct and its administrative departments which are based in Gilesgate in Durham will be consolidated into the new premises.

Both the Gilesgate offices and Yeoman House in London will be rented out.

Announcing the move, which is scheduled to take place in early December, National President Stuart Reddish said it would offer many benefits to the NFRN, including some significant cost savings.

He added: “This move heralds a new chapter in the proud history of the NFRN which is currently celebrating its centenary. The change in location will enable the Federation to continue to provide value for money and reflects our commitment to providing high quality support and services to independent retailers.”

Mr Reddish continued: “This obviously marks an exciting time for the NFRN but we are conscious that for some staff there will be some difficult decisions to be made regarding relocating out of London."

Staff were told last week of the move and a period of consultation is now underway.
