Nottingham Post appoints Mike Sassi

Mike Sassi has been appointed publisher of the Nottingham Post.

Mike became editor of The Post in June 2013. He was previously editor of The Sentinel in Stoke-on-Trent, and before that the Lincolnshire Echo. He began his career at the Derby Telegraph in 1988 as a reporter.

David Simms, regional publisher and managing director said: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mike as publisher.

"Mike has a wealth of experience built up over the years working for Northcliffe newspapers in Lincoln and Stoke, before joining the Nottingham Post almost three years ago. In that time, he has had great success in building commercial networks that have helped drive business. In this new role Mike will be responsible for overseeing the Nottingham business, including digital, newspaper sales, advertising and events. Mike will also continue to be editor of The Post.

"Over the past 12 months Nottingham has delivered some terrific results in what is still a relatively tough trading environment. Mike's appointment will help us build on this year's progress and ensure that we further develop and grow the business."

Mike takes up his new role on November 30.
