Outbrain appoint Lee Gibson as head of sales UK and Ireland

Outbrain, a global leader in content discovery, announces the appointment of Lee Gibson as Head of Sales for UK and Ireland.

Gibson brings over 16 years of experience in the media industry, and will oversee Outbrain’s continued growth as an innovative partner for the publishing industry, say the company.

Gibson joins Outbrain from a previous position at Exterion Media where he was head of agency sales. Prior to this Gibson spent 13 years at News International (now News UK) as Head of News, where he was responsible for display advertising across print, digital, tablet and mobile for The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times.

In this new role at Outbrain, Gibson will lead the UK and Ireland sales team in the pursuit of new partnership opportunities with Outbrain’s growing number of online publishers.

Outbrain serves personalised content recommendations in over 150 countries and reaches over 557 million unique visitors from across the globe. In the UK, Outbrain works with publisher partners including The Telegraph and The Guardian. Outbrain offers publishers a combination of tools and data to improve performance and user engagement.

Stephanie Himoff, Outbrain’s UK Managing Director said: “Lee’s experience and understanding of the digital publishing landscape makes him an ideal addition to our team. He will help lead, develop and progress our offering as the partner of choice for publishers that are looking to increase revenue and drive audience engagement.”

Gibson commented: “The digital publishing landscape is undergoing a huge amount of change and Outbrain, as a pioneer and innovator, is at the forefront of this. The UK and Ireland is a leading media hub, so I am greatly looking forward to further developing Outbrain’s leadership position in this market.”
