PageSuite Launch New Feed-Driven App for Star Magazine

Star magazine’s new app is currently available for iPad and iPhone devices and updates every hour to bring readers the latest celebrity news and gossip.

Their new app has been built using PageSuite Live, an app CMS that enables publishers to utilise their existing content for multi-channel publishing. PageSuite Live streams selected content feeds into customisable templates which are designed-for-device. Publishers are able to edit the page order for each edition so that they can prioritise trending stories or amend the page flow and they can also edit live content which immediately updates the live app, says PageSuite.

The feeds within this app refresh automatically every hour so that readers have access to the latest stories throughout the day. The app also features the PDF-replica edition for readers who want to view the full edition in the traditional format. The app is free to download and the feed-driven content is free to view but readers will have to sign up for a subscription to access the Digital Edition.

Within the Digital Edition section readers can access a full archive and will be able to download editions to view offline and share content via the reader tools.

Northern & Shell’s Deputy Group Director of Digital Content, Jonathan Bown, said, "We're incredibly excited to launch Star magazine's revised app. It combines the best of both worlds, bringing the user breaking celebrity news, updated 24 hours a day, along with the more in-depth coverage provided by the digital version of the print title each week.”

“Northern & Shell and PageSuite are extending a strong existing partnership with the launch of this new app and we look forward to working together on upcoming projects”.

Star magazine launched in 2003 and is one of the leading weekly celebrity magazines. According to publishers Northern and Shell, it provides readers with the latest news stories, interviews, fashion and beauty news as well as featuring some of the most outspoken celebrity columnists.

PageSuite has worked with Northern and Shell previously to launch Dynamic Apps for titles including OK! Magazine and the Daily Express.
