Baffour joins the FT from ITN, where she oversaw the organisation’s diversity and inclusion strategy and pioneered its work around the gender and BAME pay gap. Before that, she founded We do Diversity and spent five years at Channel 4 where she spearheaded 4talent and won the Deputy Prime Minister’s Excellence Award for playing a key role in tackling social mobility. Baffour was also part of the team responsible for implementing Channel 4’s 360 Diversity Charter.
“We’re pleased that Priscilla is joining us as global head of diversity and inclusion,” said Sarah Hopkins, global human resources director. “Her excellent networks and her experience in media and the newsroom really sets her apart and will help boost our efforts to attract and retain the best global talent.”
"I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the FT and looking forward to leading on a vital part of the company’s strategy,” said Baffour. “It will be an honour to work with such an ambitious team who have already made such great progress in this space."
Baffour will support the FT's efforts to improve the gender pay gap and help attract and nurture a diverse workforce.
Over the past decade she has led several diversity initiatives with media companies including BBC, British Council, ITV, Media Trust, News International and many more. Baffour was named one of the top eight BAME workplace Heroes in 2018 at the Investing in Ethnicity Awards, and is a board member to Inclusive Companies and Hyden Talent. She also sits on the Creative Diversity Network (CDN) Steering group.
