Q celebrates 25th annual awards with Xperia Access partnership deal with Sony

Bauer Media’s Q has announced it is partnering with Sony Xperia for sponsorship of the 2014 Q Awards.

Bauer Media’s Q, the monthly music magazine, has announced it is partnering with Sony Xperia for sponsorship of the 2014 Q Awards. The online and print campaign will launch Tuesday July 29th and continue until the 25th annual awards ceremony on October 22nd.

The campaign will involve extensive inventory for Sony’s Xperia Access campaign, which provides a window into the world of Sony, both in print and online here; branding on all voting mechanics; branding and signage at the awards; and a co-branded awards logo.

On the night of the Awards itself, Sony Xperia Access will also be the category sponsor of two awards, Q Best New Act and Q Innovation In Sound.

Clare Chamberlain, Head of Creative and Brand Solutions, said: “This partnership is a prime example of the creative ways our commercial partners can work with Bauer Media’s market leading brands. The 25th anniversary of the Q Awards is a real milestone for us and we’re delighted that Sony has invested in such a big way across our multiple platforms – it’s a great fit for both brands. This year promises to be the biggest day in the Q Awards’ history and we are pleased Sony will play a big part in it.”

Catherine Cherry, Marketing Director for Sony Mobile North West Europe, said: “The access that working with the Q Awards provides us epitomises what our Xperia Access campaigns intend to provide – an exceptional and unique window into some of the best music talent in the world. Using Xperia devices will also enhance the event as we use them to record and broadcast exclusive content for our fans.”

The 25th Q Awards will be hosted by Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell. O’Connell’s appointment as host of the awards also marks the start of a wider partnership between Q and Absolute Radio with the launch of a new weekly show – The Q Radio Show.

The Q Radio Show will broadcast every week from Sunday August 3 at 10.00pm and will be hosted by presenter Pete Mitchell alongside members of the Q magazine editorial team. As well as an Album Of The Week slot, the show will feature live music and interviews. The partnership between Q and Absolute Radio will offer multi-platform campaigns for labels, with the combination of both brands allowing artists to reach an audience of ardent music fans.
