Racing Post selects PostCoder.com

Racing Post, the daily horse racing and sports newspaper and website, is using PostCoder Web 2.0 - the pay-as-you-go address lookup service from PostCoder.com - to create a more seamless and efficient subscription process for its 12,000 plus Members' Club on www.racingpost.com.

Before implementing PostCoder Web 2.0, visitors to www.racingpost.com who wished to register or join Racing Post Members' Club to access the expert premium content, had to go through the registration process and type in their address details line-by-line - a time consuming process which often caused frustration and possible inaccuracies of data if visitors entered their address details incorrectly.

To improve its data accuracy, streamline its registration process and enhance its overall website experience, Racing Post therefore decided to deploy PostCoder Web, which allows visitors wishing to subscribe to populate their address details simply by inputting their postcode, saving up to 80% of the time previously taken to manually enter their address details. Furthermore, once a member's address is registered, it is stored on Racing Post's database, thereby eliminating the repetitive data entry process and increasing the level of accuracy for all data held.

In addition to improving its membership process, Racing Post has also used PostCoder Web to monitor changes to the site conversion rate. Racing Post uses its click-through analytics tool to monitor traffic to the site but, in addition to this, the implementation of PostCoder Web has allowed it to gain a better understanding of how many visitors convert to registrations.

Having access to Royal Mail's Postcode Address File - consisting of over 1.7 million postcodes that are updated on a monthly basis - PostCoder Web provides fast, efficient and cost-effective address abilities for website registration pages, order forms and similar, says the company.

Lucy Watson, Racing Post's Digital Subscriptions Manager explained, "PostCoder.com's tailored service has proven to be a great investment over the last year. Our vision to simplify the entire registration process has been enhanced by the ease of use that the software provides - improving our quality of customer service. PostCoder.com has provided us with a personalised service that has been flexible enough to suit our business needs. This understanding combined with the quality of the product, gives me no hesitation to recommend PostCoder.com."
