Readly launches in Italy

Today, Readly, the Swedish founded digital magazine subscription service, has launched its service into the Italian market.

Readly launches in Italy
Maria Hedengren: “Italy is the seventh largest market in the world when it comes to magazine circulation.”

Readly’s Italian offering includes over 70 Italian titles.

Some of the most established Italian publishers such as Mondadori, Hearst Italia and Sprea Editori are partnering with Readly from the start and their titles will be included on the platform globally.

Italy is Readly’s ninth market together with the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and the United States.

Maria Hedengren, Chief Executive Officer of Readly comments: "Italy is the seventh largest market in the world when it comes to magazine circulation, 69% of Italians access the web exclusively from mobile, and over the last year online reading of newspapers, information and magazines has grown. We believe that a combination of these elements will be fertile ground for Readly's entry into a country that is also characterized by great passions, from sports, cars, and fashion to cooking."

For Italian users, the monthly subscription is comparable to that of the UK at 9.99 euros, or 0.99 euros as a special introductory offer for the first two months.

In March 2019, Readly was ranked in the top 200 overall and the second fastest growing company in Sweden in the ‘Financial Times 1000 Fastest Growing Companies in Europe’, which measured growth between 2014-2017. 2018 saw over 55% revenue growth, launches in Switzerland and the Netherlands and further strengthening of the content portfolio, which now includes over 4000 titles, says the company.
