Record Breaking December for bbcgoodfood.com

bbcgoodfood.com finished 2014 with a record breaking month, for traffic and advertising revenue.

According to Immediate Media, 18 million unique users visited bbcgoodfood.com in December 2014, a 53% year on year increase, whilst advertising revenues for the site increased by 36% over the same period.

The record breaking visitor figures also saw page views for the month increase by 36% year on year to over 61m. As the nation prepared to gather round the table for Christmas Dinner, traffic to bbcgoodfood.com peaked on Christmas Eve with 1,655,362 unique visitors (up 61% YOY) and 3,559,593 page views (up 50% YOY). Whilst more often associated with roast beef than turkey, recipes for Yorkshire Puddings were the most viewed page, followed by more traditional Christmas dishes, mince pies, gammon and roast potatoes.

bbcgoodfood.com ad revenues for December also increased by 36% year on year; including key campaigns with Hotpoint and Unilever Perfect Partners, and saw programmatic ad revenues increase by 500% over the last year.

bbcgoodfood.com’s recording breaking December concludes a successful end to the year for the website which had also broken visitor traffic and ad revenue records in November.
