Redesign for 220 Triathlon magazine

220 Triathlon is marking its 25th anniversary with a striking and sophisticated redesign.

The 300th issue, on sale 27 May 2014, boasts a modern and innovative new look reinforcing the brand’s authoritative yet accessible message, say the publishers, Immediate Media.

Key features of the redesign include a refreshed logo, new fonts and colours, an updated flatplan and a cleaner design throughout. The title will also benefit from an improved paper stock and new matte cover finish, and will now draw on its close relationships with the sport’s leading athletes to produce quality bespoke cover shots for every issue.

Key changes include:

* Extra editorial pages added catering to reader requests for more gear reviews, nutrition and targeted training advice.

* An upsized upfront section now including four pages of the hottest new kit, while an expanded performance section brings triathletes three targeted features and training sessions for all levels of ability: beginner, intermediate and advanced.

* A new physio page has been introduced and the magazine’s nutrition coverage has also been increased.

Helen Webster, Editor, commented: “For 25 years, 220 Triathlon has been the essential guide to the world of tri with trusted content, a loyal subscriber base and a high level of reader satisfaction. This exciting redesign retains this level of value and quality and brings readers even more training, advice and gear than ever before in a more sophisticated package. With increased investment in our leading website, 220triathlon.com, and our recent acquisition of the Triathlon Show, the future’s looking bright for 220.”

According to the publishers, the 300th issue is packed full of the latest news, kit and performance tips, with special features examining the past, present and future of tri. There’s also an exclusive covershoot and six-page feature with the Olympic-medal winning Brownlee brothers, who reveal how to bike stronger, and the launch of a competition to find a reader to train with four-time World Ironman champion Chrissie Wellington for a year.

This issue also includes an interactive component. Bonus interactive content will include behind the scenes interviews and video footage from the Brownlee shoot, an exclusive interview with cycling legend Chris Boardman and 25th anniversary video messages from the biggest names in triathlon.
