Relaunch: Darkside

The relaunch issue of The Darkside, the bi-monthly title from Ghoulish Publishing, goes on sale on 21st April, cover price £3.99.

According to distributors COMAG: “Launched in 1990, Darkside is the UK’s most critically acclaimed magazine in the horror, science fiction and fantasy category. A compelling mixture of modern day and retro material, it covers these hugely popular genres in exhaustive detail.

Aimed primarily at 18-35 year old men, Darkside covers all the major new releases in these genres from the UK and the USA, providing news and reviews of both classic and contemporary science fiction films at the cinema, on DVD, in books and games.

Featuring interviews with some of the biggest names involved in the genres plus complete reviews of film festivals from around the world, behind the scenes stories, special effects secrets and insights from directors and actors, Darkside is truly a unique publication and after a brief hiatus, it is back!

With a new publisher, more pages, a glossier look and a complete redesign to bring it into the digital age, Darkside still has all the news, reviews and interviews that made it so popular, but will now also cover the Blu-Ray format and online film releases too.

As well as an exclusive new interview with John Landis (director of An American Werewolf In London), on the set of his new movie Burke and Hare, the May/June issue talks to Wes Craven about the latest instalment of his hugely popular Scream movie series, Scream 4, which opens in British cinemas as the issue hits the newsstands.

In addition to these great interviews, this issue of Darkside will also catch up with director Gary Sherman (Poltergeist 3), Hollywood actor John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Enter The Dragon) and the head of the infamous Troma studios, Lloyd Kaufman, discusses his ghostly chicken spoof, Poultrygeist!”
