SFX Launches its Re-Designed Magazine

SFX, Future’s science fiction and fantasy magazine, has a new look for issue 265, on sale Wednesday 19 August.

The new, clearer design makes the magazine more eye-catching and easier to navigate, gives it a more coherent look as a whole, and makes it more welcoming to newcomers, says Future.

To complement the title’s long-standing reader community, the letters pages have been updated to fully embrace social media, while the Viewscreen TV analysis section has also received a major overhaul. Many regulars have moved to new parts of the magazine – the Event Horizon conventions pages are now part of news, while SFX's long-standing columnists and the popular Book Club page now find their home in a new Opinion section.

According to the publishers, the magazine continues to celebrate sci-fi and fantasy in all their forms. With interviews from the biggest stars, and the most influential directors and writers who have helped make sci-fi and fantasy one of the biggest genres on the planet, the title will also continue to give opinions on the biggest releases as well as exploring the geeky places other mags don’t go. With new X-Files, Batman V Superman, the final instalment of The Hunger Games, Star Trek Beyond and of course Star Wars, the next 12 months will be among the most exciting in sci-fi and fantasy history.

Richard Edwards, editor, says, "SFX celebrated its 20th anniversary in May, so it's already been a big year for the magazine. Our eye-catching new look readies SFX for its third decade, with crisp, clear layouts that make our market-leading sci-fi and fantasy content look the best it ever has. And the Doctor on the cover for our regeneration issue? The timing couldn't be better!”
