Standard.co.uk reaches record 7.7m unique global browsers

Standard.co.uk sees strong growth in September across key global and UK metrics.

The Standard says:

* Global unique monthly browsers have soared an impressive 81% year on year, hitting their best ever numbers at 8m, up from 4.4m last September, and 5.5% from 7.6m in August.

* September was a record breaking month for daily unique browsers globally, reaching 351,000 for the first time ever – a notable 80% increase from last year's 195k, and 1.5% from 345k in August.

* In the UK, unique monthly users have also broken previous records, rising to 4.9m, an 83% rise from 2.7m in September 2013, and a 3.7% increase from 4.7m in August.

* The news and business channels saw a boost in worldwide traffic during September, up 34.4% and 90.9% from August respectively.

* Meanwhile, the Standard's cross-platform strategy enjoyed continued success, with the number of users accessing the site via a mobile device hitting 4.4m during September (55% of all users), up from 4.2m in August, generating 9.3m page views (37% of total).
