Stats Zone launches on Android

FourFourTwo has launched its Stats Zone app on Android for the first time.

The launch comes as FourFourTwo simultaneously release a major upgrade of the iPhone version and a full design refresh.

With live scores, line-ups, goal alerts and over 1,500 stats for every game, Stats Zone is the most comprehensive football stats app in the world, giving football fans access to the same data that professional clubs use, says the publishers, Haymarket.

It covers the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue Un and the UEFA Champions League and is available free to all users.

While the iPhone app launched in 2011, winning five industry awards for its innovative approach to tackling football statistics, this is the first time it will be made available to Android users.

“It’s been a long time coming but we’re delighted that Stats Zone is finally on Android,” said FourFourTwo Brand Director, Hugh Sleight. “The iOS version has been hugely popular, with over half a million downloads and five-star ratings across the board, but we’ve been very aware – and constantly reminded by FourFourTwo fans – that it was unavailable to a large proportion of our potential audience. Until now.”

The new version focuses on ease of use, getting users to the key data more quickly, thanks to an entirely new match-level interface, and taking advantage of improved built-in sharing functionality.

It also introduces video animations for all team and player chalkboards. “When Stats Zone launched, it was the first of its kind. There are now other stats apps out there but we’ve always prided ourselves on innovation and the video chalkboards are a great example of how we continue to lead the market,” said Hugh.
