Targetcolour launches www.MyPressXpert.com

Printers can now enjoy the fastest make-ready times available today thanks to a new fully-managed, internet-based process control solution, says Targetcolour.

Launching today (1 April 2009), MyPressXpert (MPX) standardises production across presses providing just-in-time maintenance and certification to ISO 12647 standards.

“MyPressXpert is the worlds first press calibration system that links press production directly to actual press experts on the Targetcolour team. Using a browser, your press information can be shared with our engineers in real time from anywhere in the world and any problems sorted out,” says Mark Priest (pictured left), Technical Director at Targetcolour.

Mark continues: “Once colour management is under control, most issues are mechanical. It can take a good two days or more to call out an engineer to take a look, order the part if needed and fix the problem. With MyPressXpert we are able to remotely identify mechanical or chemical issues on press, so if a site visit is needed the engineer will know which part is to be replaced and can bring it along. MPX also enables us to be predictive because we can use trends and indicators in the press data to identify when a particular problem is going to happen. This allows us to provide scheduled maintenance ahead of time instead of fire-fighting.”

MPX is an internet-based MySQL database-driven application providing exact first-time press calibrations to achieve any standard, including all relevant ISO 12647, according to Targetcolour. This means that printed results can now be accurately matched across presses, plants, plate types, substrates or even printing processes. The solution includes an ISO 12647 Certificate & PDF Report creation tool, so printers can demonstrate to their clients that their presses are printing to standards. As well as all recognised colour-printing standards, MPX also supports bespoke profiles such as those created under the Targetcolour Partner support package.

According to Targetcolour, the benefits are:

* Telephone and Internet links to Targetcolour engineers for full support and remote assistance instantly if a problem arises

* Designed to provide maximum press uptime through correct analysis of printing problems which is then further supported by Targetcolour’s team of press experts to offer you the cheapest solution to maintain productivity or repair presses
