Telegraph.co.uk signs exclusive athletics deal

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) will be the exclusive digital partner for live coverage of the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Doha, with live streaming of the events sponsored by Aviva on Telegraph.co.uk.

Offering users the ability to watch this key event live on Telegraph.co.uk/sport is part of the Telegraph’s commitment to the depth of its sports coverage and support of British athletes. This is also a vital step in building its digital offering, says the publisher.

TMG’s partnership with the International Association of Athletics Federations and the IEC will enable live coverage showing the Aviva GB & NI team in action at the IAAF World Indoor Championship in Doha, Qatar between March 12-14, 2010 to be streamed on www.telegraph.co.uk/athleticslive.

Separately, TMG has also been providing hockey fans with exclusive online coverage of England’s matches live from the Hero Honda FIH 2010 Hockey World Cup, which started on Sunday, February 28.

TMG, with its continued investment in digital innovations, has been developing the technology and partnerships to ensure that their online offering has the capacity to support these new opportunities.
