The Sunday Times appoints Karen Dacre

The Sunday Times yesterday announced Karen Dacre has been appointed as fashion director of Style.

Karen was previously fashion editor of the Evening Standard for ten years, and has written for titles including Elle, Vogue, The Guardian and Harper's US. Karen will work closely with Style's editor, Laura Atkinson, to continue to shape Style’s content both digitally and in print. She will join the paper from February 21.

Karen Dacre said: “I'm thrilled to be joining Laura and her first-rate team as fashion director. Digitally and in print, Style combines quality journalism with entertainment which is delivered, always, with elegance and reverence. I can't wait to get started.”

Priya Elan has also been appointed features editor of Style, from April. He was previously deputy fashion editor at The Guardian.

Announcing their appointments, the editor of Style Laura Atkinson, said: “I am delighted that Karen and Priya are joining Style. They bring with them an immense amount of experience and passion and will be a huge asset to the team, cementing Style's dedication to the world of fashion and continuing to set the agenda.”

Style claims a brand reach of 5.7 million across print, digital and social each month.

Last month Laura Atkinson was named 2021 Editor of the Year in the Newspaper Magazine category by the British Society of Magazine Editors.
