The Times appoints Maggie O'Riordan

The Times has announced the appointment of Maggie O'Riordan as deputy editor.

Maggie O'Riordan: "I have long admired The Times’ fantastic writing and analysis and am delighted to be joining a brand which is such an important part of the nation’s heritage.”

The Times says Maggie will join them in June after 15 years at Associated Newspapers.

Maggie's extensive career at Associated Newspapers has included editing the Femail section for many years before being promoted to executive editor and, most recently, deputy editor of the Mail on Sunday.

Maggie said: "I have long admired The Times’ fantastic writing and analysis and am delighted to be joining a brand which is such an important part of the nation’s heritage yet manages to remain fresh, relevant and a leader of the digital revolution."
