TNW launches iPad edition

The Next Web and Mag+ have announced that TNW’s first iPad issue is now live in Newsstand.

The international tech, business and culture blog with 5.1 million readers a month — one of the world’s most influential – officially launches its monthly tablet magazine.

The front cover is animated and the featured artwork is brilliant, say the publishers. The monthly magazine will include:

• Moving covers: using video to show off work by the artist of the month.

• Riveting gadget reviews: including big images and focusing on innovative and futuristic gadgets, such as concept cars and phones.

• Movie, book and app links to iTunes and embedded HD movie trailers in the review section: these will bring reviews to life, and allow readers to download reviewed products on the spot.

• iPad wallpapers from featured graphic artists: Graphic artists feature prominently each month, with full screen photos of their work. Many of these images will be available as wallpaper to download right away.

• Bespoke, high-value ads: using all the interactive functionality of iPad to show off advertisers’ products and services.

TNW Founder and Editor Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten says, “When I reviewed my magazine designs on iPad the first time, I had a rush of adrenalin. The Mag+ software rocks. It’s the perfect tool, allowing us to produce our 50-page tablet issue while expanding the team only by two.”

The Next Web joins the family of over 100 titles on Mag+, including award-winners Popular Science+, American Photo+, the British Journal of Photography, and many others renowned, says Mag+, for their beautiful design and high download numbers.
