Toby Wiseman promoted to Editor of Men’s Health

Leading men’s lifestyle title, Men’s Health, has appointed Toby Wiseman as its new Editor.

Toby, who currently works as Associate Editor for Men’s Health, will report to former Editor Morgan Rees. Morgan was promoted in June to Creative Development Director of Men’s Health publisher – NatMag Rodale.

In his new role as Editor, Toby will work closely with Morgan to develop all aspects of the Men’s Health editorial business.

Morgan Rees says, "Toby is an exceptional talent. His understanding of magazine craft is second to none, and his reading of the market is exemplary. I’m certain he’ll flourish in his new role, and will continue the trend of long-term success that the title has enjoyed. I’m very much looking forward to working with him as we move our titles forward on all platforms."

Toby Wiseman says, “It is with great pride that I assume the role of editor on the country’s best-selling men’s magazine. I come armed with fresh and innovative ideas that I hope will help consolidate the title’s recent achievements and reinforce the brand as the most modern and dominant force in the market."

Wiseman joined Men’s Health in 2005 as Features Editor, before being promoted to Associate Editor in 2007. He will now oversee the day-to-day running of the magazine. He has previously been Commissioning Editor on GQ, and Arts Editor on Esquire. He has twice been shortlisted for PPA Writer of the Year and regularly contributes to The Times and The Sunday Telegraph.

According to the publishers, Men’s Health has recently launched a number of highly successful brand extensions to strengthen its position as the UK’s leading men’s lifestyle brand.

Tom Stone was recently appointed to head up the new books division, and the Men’s Health ‘Manual’ series has been a huge circulation success.

Since May the mobile site has seen user figures double and the Men’s Health Training Pro iPhone app has had more than 45,000 downloads since June.

Men's Health reinforced its position as the UK's leading men's magazine with an ABC of 218,368 - its fifth consecutive period as the number 1 male lifestyle title.
