World Soccer launches on Flipboard

With the 2014 World Cup tournament kicking off yesterday in Brazil, IPC Media’s World Soccer today makes its debut on Flipboard, a single place for readers to discover, collect and share the news they care about.

Readers can tailor content by adding their favourite sources and their social networks to Flipboard. World Soccer has worked with Flipboard to deliver its news, features, photography and video to the app in a clear, attractive and immersive magazine-style layout, say the publishers.

With over 100 million users worldwide, and available across iOS, Android and Windows 8.1 devices, Flipboard will deliver World Soccer to new audiences and help make its content more discoverable. World Soccer pages, specifically designed for Flipboard, will feature all the latest World Cup news, as well as expert opinion and analysis from the unrivalled authority on the game. Content can then easily be shared by users, increasing World Soccer’s audience further.

Readers can easily find World Soccer’s content by visiting the Content Guide, as well as the World Cup magazines, curated by the Flipboard community and editors. They can then also “flip” stories from World Soccer into their own magazines on Flipboard with a tap on the plus ‘+’ button that’s on every item.

Hamish Dowson, publishing director of World Soccer, says: “World Soccer is very pleased to be able to make its world-class soccer content available through Flipboard for the first time – especially now, at this most exciting time for international football. I look forward to continuing our partnership with Flipboard for many years to come.”

“We welcome World Soccer to Flipboard just in time for the World Cup,” says Josh Quittner, editorial director at Flipboard. “World Soccer’s stories and updates are a reliable source for our readers around the world during the tournament and beyond.”
