BBC History Magazine launches in Hungary

BBC History Magazine is now available in Hungary, following a licensing deal between BBC Magazines and Budapest-based publishers Kossuth Kiadó.

The first issue, dated April 2011, is now on sale in Hungary. The cover price is 795 Ft - though the first three issues are at an introductory price of 395 Ft - and the initial print run is 25,000 copies. The editor of BBC History Magazine Hungary is Dr Gabor Papp and each issue will contain four features on Hungarian history, as well as content produced for the market-leading UK edition.

Joanna Marshall (pictured), Head of International Licensing and Syndication at BBC Magazines, said: "We are delighted to have secured our first license deal in Hungary and to be working with Kossuth Publishing Corporation on this title. We are confident that Hungarian readers will enjoy the mix of local and international content. This is the third licence for BBC History Magazine and we are thrilled that this brand is reaching more markets."

BBC History Magazine (UK) has a circulation of 69,353 (ABC Jul-Dec10), up 7.2% year on year. It is now published under licence in Italy, Sweden and Hungary.
