BSME Awards – the shortlist

The British Society of Magazine Editors has published the shortlist for its 2015 awards.

Commenting on the shortlists, BSME chair Dickon Ross said: “Magazines have been going through a recession and a technology revolution. This year’s shortlists show they are coming out the other side and fully plugged in to the digital world with brilliant apps, huge web site traffic, top social media accounts and highly imaginative spin-offs. But in many markets readers still want the print product too and this year’s shortlists also show that British editors and designers are producing some of the best magazines in the world. As the first editor from a B2B magazine to Chair the BSME, I was also particularly pleased to see that entries from this sector were well up this year on previous years”.

The shortlists for the final four Awards categories – Innovation/Brand-Building, Campaign of the Year and the two new Cover of the Year Awards – will be announced mid October. These Awards, together with the Society’s Mark Boxer Award for exceptional contribution to the industry and the Editors’ Editor Award, voted on by members of the BSME, will be presented at The Brewery in London on Monday, 16 November 2015.
