Celloglas applies textured varnish to Computer Arts Collection

Computer Arts have selected Celloglas’s textured varnish on the cover of a new series of magazines called ‘Computer Arts Collection’ to be published every eight weeks. The first issue was available from the 8th of December 2011.

A new annual series of six in-depth guides from the makers of Computer Arts, Computer arts Collection covers the core topics of graphic design, typography, illustration, branding, photography and advertising. Computer Arts Collection also includes invaluable insight and analysis to help client briefs run more smoothly.

The Textured varnish was applied as part of the Cellocover service at the Celloglas Leicester factory, using a Heidelberg high speed coater that runs at 15,000 sheets an hour.

Nick Carson Editor of Computer Arts Collection commented “Computer Arts Collection celebrates the tactile beauty of print, and we wanted high production values throughout the magazine. The Cellocover textured varnish was ideal for us, giving added protection and an attractive finish that designers will really appreciate.”

Steve Middleton, Sales Director at Celloglas, commented: “We have received some great feedback about the covers on twitter. The Cellocover textured varnish is becoming a popular protective finish for coffee table magazines or high end holiday brochures”. Steve added “It also creates a high end look at a competitive price, as the Heidelberg coating machine used to varnish the covers runs at high speeds.”
