Church Times launches app

With over 7900 issues printed since 1863 the Church Times is now available as an app. The Anglican newspaper is now available on the Apple App store to download on to iPad and iPhone.

The new Church Times app has been specially designed to bring the best possible reading experience on the iPad or iPhone, say the publishers. New issues are downloaded onto devices overnight ready to read on Friday morning and back issues can be stored for easy access. The app features a number of user friendly functions including a search facility for specific news items, features, jobs and appointments; specially designed reading views - iPad landscape has 3 column paged view, iPad portrait has a single paged view, iPhone has a single column scrolling view; pictures can be viewed in photo gallery view and the ability to share articles and jobs via email and Twitter.

As a special introductory benefit, current Church Times subscribers can at present download the app for free. App-only subscriptions can be purchased via iTunes and start from just £6.99 for a month with options to sign up for a month, 3 months, 6 months or a year.

Dominic Vaughan, CEO of Hymns Ancient & Modern Ltd said: “We are delighted to extend the reach of the Church Times by launching an app that delivers a full and enhanced reading experience for both current subscribers and new readers.”

The app has been developed by the Church Times with Aimer Media, a Brighton-based developer that has developed a range of apps for a number of religious publishers.
