DC Thomson Media Launches New Lifestyle Brand: Society

Society comes in the form of print, online and mobile. Published every Thursday, the magazine is distributed with the Evening Express – which has a circulation of 22,736 and is the highest selling evening title in Scotland, says DC Thomson Media.

The brand’s aim is to celebrate all that’s good about the area, with both the online and print offerings of Society keeping readers informed of events taking place in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

With a heavy focus on the North-east’s food and drink industry, Society brings readers interviews with local food producers, chefs and weekly food reviews too.

Samantha Leckie, Editor for Society at DC Thomson Media, says, “We are fuelled by a passion for the North-east and want to showcase everything the area has to offer. Both Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are fantastic places to live, work and socialise – and we want to highlight that.”

Not only does Society guide readers on where to eat, say the publishers, but also how to look and feel their best, with fashion and beauty features which help to promote North-east retailers. The magazine also focuses on interior trends too, with home and interior tips and products from local businesses sure to make readers’ homes look on trend. And when it comes to music and theatre, Society boasts interviews with everyone from local community theatre groups, to chart-topping musicians performing in and around Aberdeen.

As Samantha states, “Not only is Society packed full with exciting content, online and in print, it’s also visually appealing with its contemporary, sleek and stylish design. Creative photography and images will also play a key part in making Society appealing.

“The Society team are very proud and excited to be part of such a fantastic new brand which we believe there is a real thirst for in Aberdeen.”

Society launched Thursday 31st May.
