Classic Rock’s Slash offer

Future, the special interest media group and Roadrunner Records, the rock music label, have today confirmed their pioneering ‘Fan Pack’ release of Slash’s self-titled debut solo album will go on sale across the UK on Wednesday, 7th April – a month ahead of its standard UK release date.

The “revolutionary” distribution model, first announced in November last year sees Future and Roadrunner records creating the world’s first Fan Pack release – making the iconic guitarist’s new album available a month early in a premium package. The standard UK release of Slash goes on sale Monday, 10th May.

With a personally hand-picked roster of artists, the eagerly-awaited Slash features collaborations between the guitarist and an all-star roster of guest musicians including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco Deluca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M.Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.

With a coverprice of £14.99 the Fan Pack comes with its own collectable issue of Future’s Classic Rock Magazine – Classic Rock Presents: Slash – a 132-page special edited by Mick Wall, bringing the album and Slash’s successful career into context, with exclusive input from the man himself. The Fan Pack release also includes two bonus tracks, not on the standard UK release, with artists including Alice Cooper, Cypress Hill and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.

According to the publishers, the partnership is a first for music and media industries, marking the first-time a major new album has been released this way. The partnership ensures that Slash’s new album is available through over 3000 UK retailers that stock Classic Rock – sidestepping the issue of dwindling high street music outlets and top 20 only stocking in supermarkets. Classic Rock is one of the UK’s biggest rock music magazines and this year recorded its 8th consecutive circulation increase, the only paid-for music magazine to grow.

The Slash Fan Pack – packing Slash’s debut solo album from Roadrunner Records, with its very own 132-page Classic Rock Presents: Slash special goes on sale Wednesday, 7th April, with a coverprice of £14.99.
