CMA appoints new Chairperson

The Content Marketing Association (CMA) has announced the appointment of Matt Adams, CEO of Havas Media UK and Havas Media International, as its new Chairperson.

Adams moved to Havas Media in September this year, from his previous role as UK Managing Director at iProspect. At Havas Media, he sits on the Group’s senior leadership team and is responsible for driving growth across the portfolio.

He has been a member of the CMA’s management team as a Director since 2015, after being part of the iProspect senior team to lead the agency to join the CMA in 2014. Bringing over 15 years of experience to the position, Adams has also held roles at MEC and Yahoo.

Matt Adams said: “Taking up this position is a real honour for me, as I believe strongly in the growing power and changing face of content marketing. I know from experience that the CMA truly is a leader within the industry and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Clare, the wider management team and members to shape the content marketing landscape and lead the way for excellence in the field.”

Adams takes over from Andrew Hirsch, CEO of John Brown Media, who has held the position for the last three years and is stepping down in December.

Clare Hill, Managing Director of the Content Marketing Association, said: “Over the past three years, the CMA has been through a huge transformation, with Andrew as a driving force in helping us deliver a new value proposition and positioning it as the centre of excellence for all things content marketing. I would personally like to thank him for his invaluable support, whilst welcoming Matt to the role. He has been a big supporter of the CMA and content marketing in recent years and it’s wonderful that he has taken on the Chairperson role.”

Matt Adams will take over the role from January 2017, working with the rest of the CMA Committee - Clare Broadbent of Cedar, Sean King of Seven and Vince Medeiros of TCOLondon.
