Conde Nast to launch College of Fashion & Design

Condé Nast has announced the launch of a college, The Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design.

It will open to coincide with the start of the academic year in September 2012, it was announced today. Susie Forbes is named Principal of the College.

With up to 300 students in its first year, the College will offer fee paying scholars a year long Vogue fashion foundation course, as well as 10 week intensive fashion courses. House & Garden interior design and decoration courses are planned to follow, as well as various MA level courses. The curriculums will cover the history of the disciplines, and modules on the fashion year, print and digital journalism, luxury brand marketing, and other related business skills. The College will be supported by a board of education and fashion advisors, and Condé Nast is in the advanced stages of acquiring premises in central London.

Susie Forbes began her career on Elle, and was formerly Deputy Editor of British Vogue for five years. Susie is currently Editor of Easy Living.

Deborah Joseph is announced as the new Editor of Easy Living. Formerly a conspicuously successful BSME Award-winning Editor of Brides magazine, and prior to that a senior executive on Glamour and the Daily Mail, Deborah Joseph will return from maternity leave at the beginning of October to take up her new position, and the March 2012 issue of Easy Living will be the first under her Editorship.

Deborah Joseph says “I am incredibly excited about becoming Editor of Easy Living. I've loved the magazine since its launch, and am looking forward to working with the team to make it even more glamorous and must-read – the number one magazine for stylish grown-up women.”

Jade Beer, who has been the very successful Acting Editor for Brides magazine during Deborah Joseph’s maternity leave, will take up the position of Editor with immediate effect. Jade is a former Deputy Editor of Glamour, who has also held senior positions at the Daily Mail.
