DataCenter Dynamics goes live with a new responsive site

Abacus e-Media has redesigned and re-launched the main website for new client DCD, with a “beautiful responsive design”.

Powered by Webvision CMS and ADvance, and utilising responsive web design, the site offers an optimised mobile-first experience across all devices, says Abacus e-Media. The site automatically adapts to the screen size of the device, offering a seamless user experience across mobile, tablet and desktop. The new navigation is clean and clear and makes it easier for their users to access the content they want, adjusting from a mega-dropdown menu to a collapsible burger menu on mobile and tablet, allowing access to multiple depths of content.

According to Abacus e-Media, Webvision supports genuine multichannel publishing, having one CMS where all content production can be controlled through a single workflow and delivered to each channel (web, mobile, tablet and print). It has the flexibility which allows editors complete control over the presentation and placement of all content on the landing pages of the site. A standard integration with InDesign using XML workflow will dramatically cut down on print production time and costs, with all the content being centrally managed in the CMS. The new site has a modern design that compliments the recently redesigned branding of DCD and print publication.

The online registration and subscription process is powered by ADvance, Abacus’ cloud-based audience management platform. DCD will be able to capture detailed demographic data about their audience – such as job title, country of residence, and/or subscription history – which can be used for sophisticated audience segmentation. Utilising ADvance’s business intelligence tools, DCD will be able to use this data to provide powerful insights to identify specific behavioural trends and rapidly develop new and existing products (both on and offline), says Abacus. The new ‘research’ section of the website houses the DCD Intelligence business information services and high value reports which can be purchased online and then accessed through a new feature ‘my reports’ library.

Datacenter Dynamics is a brand of DCD Group, a global B2B media and publishing company that develops products to help senior professionals in the world’s most ICT dependent organizations make risk-based infrastructure and capacity decisions. Their portfolio of live events, online and print publishing, business intelligence and professional development brands are centred on the complexities of technology convergence. Operating in 42 different countries, DCD has developed a global knowledge and networking platform, which, say the publishers, is trusted by over 30,000 ICT, engineering and technology professionals. The site has been split into two key areas, the main media division and DCD Intelligence which provides high value research reports and bespoke consultancy projects.

The project was delivered on time and to budget, says Abacus e-Media.
